My husband and I were looking for overnight accomodations while in town for an event. We didn't want to spend alot for a place just to sleep, and we were very pleasantly surprised by the Tarzana Inn. Even thought it is a "motel type" building, it was very nicely landscaped, very well maintained and had a very boutique-like feel to it. Rooms were clean, had a nice breakfast in the morning and it is very close to the freeway. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. We would definitely stay there again, and recommend it to our friends. A very good value for the money.
Great atmosphere and decor in the lounge and pool areas-just seemed casual and enjoyable. Even though on busy road, didn't interfere with quiet environment. Free breakfast and parking. Walkin shower. Refrigerator in the room.
No microwave available in a common space or the room. TV channels were snowy from 40 on up.
The room was very clean and quiet. The lobby and hotel grounds were lovely. Pool looked great but we didn't have a chance to swim. Staff was helpful and kind. Parking was FREE and plentiful. Location was perfect - right off the freeway, gas & markets nearby, and we had a delicious breakfast at the cafe next door.
The shower was tiny.
The name has changed over the years as we discovered we spent a few honeymoon nights here! The rooms were a little dated but very clean. The staff was friendly and helpful.
The lobby of the hotel was updated to reflect an African theme you know, "Tarzan." I think it would be great to bring the rooms into that theme also. That's not a complaint - just an idea that would be enjoyed by those who stay here.
I liked the furnishings more than in most hotels. I really appreciate the allergy cover on the mattress.
I would have preferred a blow dryer in the room. The tv reception was really poor. My computer said I was connected to the internet but nothing came through.
Staff are really friendly and helpful, as we checked in even a couple of hours earlier than the official check-in time. The room was extremely clean and neat and the complimentary breakfast was fantastic.
Darling hotel on a busy street, but so tucked in, you'd think you were at a boutique hotel in the country. Friendly staff, clean sparkling pool and tidy, spotless room. We will return again next year!
Nice well kept courtyard area with pool
Front of toilet had a brown stain on and had to be cleaned, my credit card was copied and placed in a box on the front desk desk, as front desk is not always manned credit card details could fall into the wrong hands.
The Motel is appropriate for the price. In the area are a lot of resturants and a good access to the 101 Freeway, which brings you quick to Hollywood, the lax airport and to the 405 San Diego fwy. The rooms were clean and the small pool was good too. I would recommend it for travelers who stay for a few nights in la.
Don't expect a great breakfast.
Great hotel. The location was very convenient with easy access to the freeway (101). Although it is on a busy road we heard no road traffic and most of the rooms do not have windows on the main road. Really liked the courtyard with the pool in the middle with plenty of plants. A good kid friendly place. The breakfast was decent with an ongoing supply of bagels, pastries, breakfast cereal, fruit, orange juice and coffee. We liked it.
The woman at the front desk on the evening we arrived could have been a little more friendly and accomodating. However the man at the front desk the next morning was really friendly. The bathroom is a little on the small side.
They have some nerve charging what they do for a night stay. They hotel is old, our room was right outside a gas station with cars and lights blazing all night long. The breakfast was stale bread and coffee. The shower was so small I could not lift my arms to wash my hair Our room smelled old and musty and like old animals had been staying there. I would not recommend this hotel.
Great staff, clean rooms, centrally located, and quiet
I'm a teacher and needed a place close to work during final exam week so that I would not have to fight la traffic. Tarzana Inn gave my husband and I the comfort we wanted and me the extra time required by a teacher needing to grade final exams on a deadline.
Convenient venue, very comfortable beds, convenience of going to Little Cafe for lunch/brunch.
Could hear my sil talking on the phone in the adjoining room at all hours (maybe as much a complaint about my sil as the thinness of the door).
